David Zabay Caballero

Davi (David Zabay Caballero) was born in a small Mediterranean town in Catalonia, near Badalona, Spain. One day he decided it was time he settled down. But in Spanish, when you settle down, you say that you "sit your head down". So he put on an earring shaped like a tiny chair. Ever since, he has been drawing funny pictures, which have been published in many different media. He also writes and illustrates children's stories. In 1996, he won the “Apel les Mestres” Award for children's literature and the “Humor Gráfico Joven y Brillante” Award.

Besides peace and quiet, music and cooking, what he likes best are books, especially books telling about journeys.
His favorite book is Gulliver's Travels by Jonathan Swift. That is also why he likes to travel to far-away lands. He has traveled by horseback, balloon, train, canoe, and more, but mostly walking. That is how you really get to know a place.

One hot morning in an Australian town called Ouldabinna, Davi met (Mr. Simpleton) Señor Simplón. It was a moving experience for him, and it was at that moment when he decided to write this story.
