Álvaro del Amo

Álvaro del Amo was born in Madrid, Spain in 1942. Besides being a writer, he has been a film and theater director, experiences which bring a highly imaginative quality to his superb stories. Told from a child's point of view, they are both disturbing and whimsical. In some of his children's stories, the illustrations were created first, then the story was written around the pictures. Álfaro del Amo is one of the most original Spanish authors writing today. He is the author of La fiesta y el festín.
