evoted to publishing and promoting children’s literature since it began operation in 1980, CIDCLI publishes high quality literary works written and illustrated by well-known Spanish-speaking authors and outstanding artists from around the world.
At CIDCLI we strive to combine language, images and design , in an effective and attractive manner .
Narrative and poetry are the two literary forms that CIDCLI has most actively promoted. Our catalogue features
writers who have added great value to the expression of the Spanish language, names like Octavio Paz, Nicanor Parra, Álvaro Mutis, Camilo José Cela, Mario Benedetti and Severo Sarduy, amongst others. Thanks to the efforts of CIDCLI, children in Mexico and throughout the world can now enjoy books written especially for them by such exceptional authors.

We are convinced at CIDCLI that in order to promote the proper learning of Spanish, |
CIDCLI books have been extremely well received in the United States, showing a strong potential for a broad market. Unlike many publications in Spanish available in the US, our books promote the understanding and knowledge of the language, not as translations from other languages but as native Spanish texts. |
| it is best to resort to original and well-written content. |
Our approach has allowed our publications to demonstrate the extensive range of styles and regional varieties of the Spanish language. We are interested in presenting Spanish-speaking authors from different countries, and CIDCLI books include glossaries and relevant notes, when necessary, in order to respect the distinctive native language mannerisms of each author.
Throughout three decades of operation, CIDCLI has published over 150 select titles, many of which have received national and/or international awards. As part of the free textbook program sponsored by the Ministry of Education in Mexico, CIDCLI has also produced special publications to foster that initiative.
To strengthen joint ventures and the marketing of publications that support various Spanish learning programs from different educational entities, CIDCLI maintains professional ties with 15 local government agencies and over 20
foreign publishing companies.
Moreover, a number of libraries in the country and abroad, many of them in the United States and in South America, now include our publications in their collections.
